[color=DarkOrange]★Akia是2002年环球推出的新人，她的首支也是唯一一支单曲《California》在Urban和跨界电台的点播率超过450万次。按理说，签约一个好的唱片公司，发行一支能受到瞩目的单曲，她的前途至少会相对平坦些。可是，当2003年暑期她的首张EP《Atruprncss》发行后，一切便戛然而止。  

　　★《Atruprncss》是一张什么样的EP？简单的说，它爽耳，好听，流畅，动感。就是这样一张EP，却走进万劫不复的境地，遭遇无人问津的尴尬，是无人欣赏，还是要从此怀疑美国人的审美？换个角度听，也许便可从中得到答案。  
            
　　★《Atruprncss》有多好听实在无需多讲，每首歌的旋律都相当养耳诱人，几乎将流行R&B专辑的可听度提升到一个令人侧目的地步。但是完美的旋律并不是救世主，在这个宣扬个性的年代，《Atruprncss》中略显过时的小女生情歌已经很难吸引到喜新厌旧的青少年。在2003年，Ashanti所引领的Hip-Hop节奏至上的潮流已经成为未来R&B的重要发展方向，这股风潮引来无数人竞相跟随，Akia却还唱着流行R&B，确实有些跟不上时代。传统R&B的鼎盛时期已经不复存在，当Hip-Hop节奏主导着R&B的流行走向时，以旋律为重中之重的传统R&B似乎沦落到一个二线的位置。  
            
　　★《Atruprncss》虽然是张好听的EP，但是其风格过于统一。即使没有引入当红的流行元素，即使流行R&B依然具有广阔的市场，毫无新鲜感的《Atruprncss》依然会举步维艰。所有歌曲的制作都中规中矩，甚至显得有些简陋，模式化成为唯一的特征。在编曲上也都一脉相承，仿佛一个模子中产生的，没有任何新鲜个性的东西，哪怕是一个小小的音效。以至于不得不感叹，若是换一个大牌制作人加入，这些歌曲会被更多人记住。  
            
　　★Akia的声音甜美可人，力度柔软，与乐坛天后Janet有些许相似。本身辨识度并不算很好，加上过于流畅的歌曲旋律，听罢其声音反而无法留下任何印象。旋律抢足了Akia本身的风头，歌曲本身成为震撼听众耳膜的因素，而不是Akia，这就是所谓的歌红人不红吧。虽然Akia声线柔美，但是个性全无，而且在《Atruprncss》中完全听不出她有何过人的唱功，想在众多的名字中记住Akia，仿佛成为一件难事。作为一个歌手，无法让听众认识她的声音，便注定了她的失败。不夸张地说，Akia演唱着所有歌手都能演唱的歌曲，任何女歌手都能成为这些旋律的主人。 [/color]
